Alex is 29 years old, originally from the Ukraine and currently living in Israel. He is a talented drummer, who has big dreams and ambitions for his band and hopes to be internationally recognized. Alex has always felt like an outsider, not fitting in in Israel or in the Ukraine, and has struggled to find a place that he can comfortably call home, outside the music community. His family originally came to Israel, when his mother started connection to religion and decided to make aliyah with her sister and grandmother. Alex’s father, who is not Jewish, decided to not come and convert after pressure from his family to stay in the Ukraine. His mother met a religious man in Israel, who Alex did not know he wasn’t his biological father until a violent confrontation at the age of 14 that led to his mother admitting it was actually his stepfather. Both of his parents were very intensely religious, which led to the growth of Alex feeling like an outsider. Naturally rebellious, the black and white nature of his upbringing did not sit well with him and he moved around schools until finally leaving the orthodox world completely. He doesn’t feel that he has been accepted in Israel and is always seen as an outsider due to him being an immigrant.<\/p>\n
